In the mid 1970’s, I create the figure that has become my signature character in all of my paintings and 3-dimendsional mixed media pieces. I did this by simplifying shapes to animate the basic human emotions in all of us. The figures are virtually all elongated, raceless, genderless and composed of a single color each. These expressive figures have detached heads and are quite animated by the movement of their arms and legs with their detached hands and feet.

My paintings are acrylic on canvas or handmade papers. I usually create my own original paintings in series, such the "Word" Series, the " Gallery" Series, the "Landscape" Series and other series that I paint or construct. Each original is signed and dated by year. I also title most all of my originals to allow not only the visual but the verbal viewer to be involved with each piece The title also explains my point of view of what I have painted and the viewer can develop his or her own ideas from this.

National and International publishers and galleries represent my work. My current collection of 75 limited editions prints, I have self-published for complete artistic control. I have also self-published two books with my art work as well. Yearly I do select gallery shows, both here in the United States and in Japan, in addition to participating in several juried art festivals through out the year. I enjoy selling my artwork directly to my loyal and established clientele that is continually expanding.

I, along with my wife, jeweler and interior designer, Isabelle, create our various forms of art works in our studios in Santa Rosa, California. I am located just one hours drive North of the San Francisco’s Gold Gate Bridge, so I can have then benefit of living and working in the country and yet still visit the city to get the energy and ambience that it provides.
